My son is 17 and works a full-time job. We homeschool, so he didn’t have to drop out, but he has always hated bookwork and traditional learning. He loves working, loves the money (they pay him well!), loves the independence, loves to stay busy. It’s the best thing that could’ve happened to him.
Your article touches on topics near to my heart- school, motivation, purpose. Kids, and teens especially, need more out of life than what our current system has to offer. No wonder adults are overworked, stressed, and miserable. They’re trained to be that way from the beginning.
