There’s a health crisis in the US, and it centers around obesity. Let’s not pretend otherwise. Sometimes feelings of shame come from knowing there’s a need to make changes, from knowing we can do better. Sometimes we need to own that shame, not ignore it. I’m not saying we need to make others feel ashamed, that’s never ok, but we shouldn’t normalize unhealthy food choices and a sedentary life style.

Also, my food and exercise choices shouldn’t bother you. I don’t have an eating disorder or fat phobia just because I work hard to stay in shape and refuse to become overweight.
